I really enjoy the pose and use of the dog in this image, the use of the bench is very rural and quirky whilst the dog adds a softer element, both of these things I feel really reflect Alice's personality. Her faint smile as she plays with the dog and how the dog isn't afraid to come near her suggest that she is a person to be trusted that the viewer will pick up on. These are very endearing qualities that create an appeasing image. However, the background is not the right season for the image purpose and so I have changed this in editing. For this image I used macro mode in order to capture the model clearly and allow the light to shine through where as the background was left blurred.
I love how the model's eyes are looking straight into the camera lens for this photo and it appears as though she is smirking at the viewer. this engages the viewer and almost dares them to look away, which they won't. I think this differentiates the two characters of Alice and the Mad Hatter from each other as before we saw the soft, friendly playfulness of a young girl and now we can see the more challenging, stronger character of the Mad Hatter. I like the background, it looks very formal and posh where as the Mad Hatter isn't treating it as such, instead balancing a tea cup off her finger. I also really enjoy her relaxed, lean back stance that shows off how at home she feels in the image.
I took this photo using sports mode in order to capture the falling roses that the Mad Hatter threw into the air. I like the way hat you can clearly see the flower heads but I do not like how they cover the model's face. I will use a photo similar to this but one where the roses are not covering the face of the model as I feel this takes away from the image.
I took this photo using sports mode, it was one of many but this one I feel this one worked well as you can see the movements taking place. The model is looking down at her own steps which encourages the viewer to do the same. Again her hair is swept artfully to one side so that we have a clear view of her face on profile. The light coming into this photo reflects nicely on the model and the dress. the way it is draped from her hands is smooth and shows of the vinatge wedding dress itself.
Another White Queen image that I really like as it is taken from a low angle, pointing up. The model looks as though she is staring at something above the corner and the way she is smiling happily makes the viewer want to know what she is looking at. I like the way she is positioned as the one shoulder in the front and her almost looking over it adds depth to the image. The lighting is also very nice in this photo and casts a visually appeasing shadow onto the model's face.
This photo is meant to be very natural, the girl is not in any character instead she is simply reading a fairy tale book in her cosy Christmas themed clothes. I like this photo as the picture really does give the impression that the girl is lost in the fairy tale world and smiling without even realizing it. The idea for these photos was to set up the story of why the photos happened. The girl falls asleep reading a fairy tale book and then dreams of what it would be like to be the characters. The dog is also in the photo and adds a endearing factor to the photo which would appeal to animal lovers.
This photo is in the same context as the above but using a completely different angle which makes the viewer feel as though they are looking over the model's shoulder as she is reading. We can clearly see her Christmas jumper and socks and also get an idea for just how absorbed in the story she is. The rule of thirds is used as there is no exact center point of the photo and the viewer is encouraged to scan the whole photo, taking in every detail.
